back to school.

We're almost done with our first full week of Montessori preschool! Nate was sad to leave his old class that he spent the last year in, but we decided to make a change and give the Montessori style and curriculum a shot. I'll have to admit that I can see how the approach could be very educationally stimulating, but I also know that my kiddo may need more direction and help focusing. Baby steps, it's only three days in.

In any case, here's a picture of my little guy on his first day!

Last year we spent Labor Day at the pool and properly exhausted ourselves. This year, Chris worked and Nate and I had the day off together. He played in his room for hours with all of his superheroes and villains, and then took in a few shows.

I spent the day organizing my home office, doing incessant amounts of laundry, and decluttering. My husband thinks I'm crazy when I do things like wash all of the towels and pot holders, but they look brand new again. I also updated Nate's artwork board - something that he's always really proud of when we have visitors. In addition to showing him every toy in his room, he also gives them a blow-by-blow about the pictures in his little gallery.
