We're almost done with our first full week of Montessori preschool! Nate was sad to leave his old class that he spent the last year in, but we decided to make a change and give the Montessori style and curriculum a shot. I'll have to admit that I can see how the approach could be very educationally stimulating, but I also know that my kiddo may need more direction and help focusing. Baby steps, it's only three days in.
In any case, here's a picture of my little guy on his first day!
Last year we spent Labor Day at the pool and properly exhausted ourselves. This year, Chris worked and Nate and I had the day off together. He played in his room for
hours with all of his superheroes and villains, and then took in a few shows.
I spent the day organizing my home office, doing incessant amounts of laundry, and decluttering. My husband thinks I'm crazy when I do things like wash all of the towels and pot holders, but they look brand new again. I also updated Nate's artwork board - something that he's always really proud of when we have visitors. In addition to showing him every toy in his room, he also gives them a blow-by-blow about the pictures in his little gallery.
