fourth anniversary.

Chris and I celebrated our fourth anniversary a few weeks ago. We had a nice dinner out without a toddler and just enjoyed an evening out together. I found myself looking through our wedding photos this evening, so I thought I would share!

say cheese.

This is the face that we get when we tell him to say 'cheese' for the camera. What a little ham!

second birthday party.

We are a few weeks past Nate's actual birthday, but had a party at our house yesterday to celebrate our little guy turning two.  I could not be happier with how all of the details and painstaking planning came together to create a fun and enjoyable memory.  The highlights of the day included having 27 family members and friends sharing the day with us, an alligator shaped moon bounce, and the most adorable cake I have seen in my life created by a great local bakery.

Nathan is absolutely obsessed with Jake and the Neverland Pirates on Disney, so his party was all things Jake. I know that he doesn't understand the concept of what a birthday is or that the party was for him, but I hope that he'll be able to look back through photos to see all of the fun and how very much he is loved by so many people.

water baby.

My friend Lauren and I took Nate to our local water park, Splashdown, and had such a great time! I actually worked there as a teenager, so it's definitely in my history. Nate had never been to a real pool before, much less a water park, so seeing him explore the different things around him was so cute to watch.  Surprisingly, he stuck with his Momma and wanted to hold my hand or be held at all times. I know that this is simply because it was a new place, but I thought it was adorable.

I love that Nate loves water. He did really well in wanting to play in the kiddie area and go down all of the slides. Once we got to deeper water, he wasn't very comfortable in his life jacket, but did great.

Here are a few pictures of him from today...I'm so thankful that I didn't accidentally drop my phone in the pool!

i'm two.

I have a two year old...that feels so strange to say. The last two years have flown by, it feels like just yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital.  I took some time off this week to be able to spend lots of time with my little man.  Yesterday was his actual birthday and then we are doing his party in a few weeks.

We had a great time yesterday going to House of Bounce where Nate was able to play indoors, out of the heat, with lots of other kids.  He still is a little intimidated by the moon bounces, but he ended up spending lots of time with some sweet little girls who were there from a daycare. They took him under their wings to help him try to bounce and were just so cute with him.  We ended up just spending some quiet Mommy and Nate time around the house before having the grandparents over for some cake.  Here are some photos from his big day!
