About Us

Our little family is loud, unpredictable, hilarious, and so loving. I can't imagine our lives any other way. Meet the crew!

Nathan

Nate is a high-energy toddler who loves being outside, hoarding toys, and eating snacks rather than real meals. Born in August 2010, Nate enjoys testing the boundaries as we head into the terrible threes, has mischief in his eyes, and an incredibly big heart. I take endless pictures of this little man, write down the hilarious things that he says, and enjoy every aspect of being his mommy (even the incredible gross ones!)

Chris

My goofy, hilarious, and sweet husband.  Chris is a connoisseur of child wrangling, cooking with no recipe, video games, and fine wines (that come from Costco). My opposite in so many ways, I'm lucky to have Chris to balance me out! Chris has a photography blog that he updates every once in a while - check it out!

Katie

That's me! Wife, mother, full-time manager at a higher ed. institution, and part-time student. In addition to keeping this blog up to date, I make a ridiculous amount of effort to save money where we can. From couponing to taking surveys to get gift cards, I'm always looking for a good deal. Mortgage and daycare aren't cheap, y'all. :)

Trevor & Honey

Back when Chris and I were dating, I became obsessed with the idea of getting a puppy. I never had a pet as a child, so I became fixated on becoming a dog owner. Problem was that I lived in an apartment where the pet limit was already maxed out by cats. Solution? Get a dog and talk my wonderful boyfriend at the time to do all the heavy lifting! I got Trevor from a breeder in Winston-Salem, NC (ironically enough, I was born in the same town). Fast forward to several months after our wedding and Chris started talking about wanting a baby. Enter Honey, a rescue that we got at Petsmart while checking out dog food. She held us over for about a year before we got pregnant with Nathan.

The Aquarium of Fish, Snails, & Shrimp

We started our journey of tankhood in July 2013 and we're not having the best of luck yet. We've gone through quite a few little buddies, but we're determined to make it work. After all, we sunk a pretty penny into this as Nate's third birthday present! Despite the lack of luck keeping the little creatures alive, the water sounds make this the most peaceful little corner of our otherwise deafening house.
